Harriet A. Mexicott, 88, of Temperance, MI. died Monday, November 6, 2017, in her home. Born June 12, 1929, in Toledo, OH, she was the daughter of Harry and Anna (White) Benford. She was a graduate of Scott High School, she married Richard Mexicott on February 8, 1964. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1997. Harriet was a secretary and waitress, retiring in 1988 from Pewter Pub Restaurant in Hudson’s Department Store at Franklin Park Mall. Harriet really enjoyed her job as a waitress, and interacting with customers every day. She also attended Bedford Alliance Church.
Surviving are her loving children, Cathy (Russell) Drennan, Marty (Paula) St. John and Scott (Michelle) Mexicott; brother-in-law, Thomas Dufour; sister-in-law, Lorainne Benford; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Harry “Sonny”, George and Jerry Benford; 3 sisters, Mary Warren, Clara “Sue” Jordan and Bonnie Dufour.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm, Friday, November 10, 2017, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman), Temperance, MI, where funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, Toledo, OH. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Promedica Hospice for the loving care given to Harriet. Memorials may be made to Promedica Hospice.
